And what a week it's been, Steve and I have been so busy lately with doctors and therapists' appointments. We managed to have one relaxing day at home though which was nice. The week was marred by a pretty ugly confrontation with a guy in the next block of units though. We had just had a council cleanup and someone had left three barbecue gas bottles in the rubbish pile. Two were taken, probably by someone cruising the cleanup, and the third was left behind. It was sitting out on the nature strip for it to be taken but someone kept moving it. We found it behind the brick wall enclosure that houses the garbage bins so Steve picked it up and put it back out again. The next thing some bloke sitting on his balcony started screaming abuse at us. We were attempting to tell him that the council was coming to pick it up as you can't put a gas bottle in the bin but he was screaming threats and abuse because it was in front of his block of units, (it wasn't) and finally je did the one big no-no. He physically threatened my husband who is on a walking stick due to Cervical Dystonia and other serious health issues.
That was it, I lost my temper and flew up this idiot. One of our neighbours came down and also had a go at him and finally, he shut up and went back inside. The bottle is now gone and peace hopefully reigns once more. What amazed me though was he must have been aware of the cleanup and that we kept trying to explain that the council was coming to take it. Normally they don't take gas bottles but they decided to pick it up rather than have it sit there until the end of time. I know things have been stressful lately, Covid, etc, but jeezuz this was over the top. I hope I don't have another encounter with this creep.
