In 2023, I was put on the list for a colonoscopy and gastroscopy. I have been having terrible problems with gastric reflux and digestion. The Gastrologist thinks it could be linked to my pancreas. The lists for tests are so behind because of Covid, and they are working their way through the backlog. I finally got in on Wednesday. I should get the results in a couple of weeks.

My son is coming back home from New Zealand, we are picking him up from the airport tomorrow. I am so glad that he is coming back home. He has a job out here so that is good. He will be staying with us but he will want to find a place so his wife and kids will be able to move over here as well.

Thing have been a little crazy here so I have not really had time to post, but hopefully I will have a little more time after all the medical stuff is dealt with.

I have not posted in a while as I have just been so busy. It's been mostly medical stuff for Steve.

We did manage to do some shopping and picked up some great bargains now that we are heading towards spring. This winter feels like it has been going on forever.

One nice thing, we have a white faced grey heron nesting near our unit. We are close to the bay and a fresh water creek so we get a lot of sea birds but not many herons. I hope the nest is well hidden as we do have cats and dogs in the area.

That's about it for now, hopefully it won't be so long between posts next time.

This week was mostly made up of medical appointments for me this time and not Steve. I have to have a biopsy, it looks like I might have another skin cancer, so I am having it removed. I guess I am paying for all the time I spent in the sun as a kid.

The weather has finally turned cold and wet, real Autumn weather now. Steve is enjoying it, he loves the colder weather. We went for a drive yesterday b

I am amazed at how good X-Men 97 is and it's getting better with each episode. The Boys are also coming back for another season which is great. I haven't been able to get to the cinema so there are a couple of movies I have missed. I will catch up when they come out on streaming services. I prefer to watch them on the big screen but I just haven't had much time lately. Hopefully, next week will be a bit quieter.

It has been pretty busy, Steve's mobility has gotten worse so he has now been approved for a motorised wheelchair. He has a new occupation therapist and she is great. She is right on top of all the paperwork and everything. She is an older lady and really knows what she is doing. She came out to our home to meet Steve along with his support coordinator and the wheelchair technician. They tested him in several different models until they found the right one for him.

He should get the wheelchair in a couple of weeks as it is being funded by the NDIS.

Other than that, we have been doing our usual stuff, gym for me, physio for Steve. We have met his new support worker as well. She is a lovely lady and she and Steve hit it off straight away. My doctor has also put me on a new medication for anxiety and OCD, it all stems from my ASD. I am

I finally got to see StopMotion and Late Night With The Devil. I enjoyed them both along with Imaginary, but Late Night With The Devil is definitely my favourite. David Dastmalchian was brilliant as the late night host and I hope he does get more lead roles.

That's about it, hope everyone has a great week

It's nice to finally be able to have a bit of a break. Steve and I have been out every day of the week and to be honest, I am exhausted. I have not been sick. just lacking energy. I think I need a checkup just to see what is going on.

Steve needs to get his blood sugar checked as it has been a little high lately so we will probably get that done sometime next week.

We had lunch with some friends out at St Marys Leagues Club, which was really nice. Between all of Steve's medical appointments and therapies. it was a nice change to visit with friends.

I am going out to spend some time with one of my granddaughters, her Mum has to work so we are going to hang out for a while. I hope everyone is having a great start to 2024.

Steve does not have many appointments this week so we have been able to have a couple of days at home if this keeps up I might even be able to catch up on my reading. We decided to go into the city, we skipped Vivid this year as so many of the formally free attractions now cost to go and see. But we have been doing other things, like taking the ferry down Parramatta River and having dinner there, then taking the train back.

i am going to Goulburn on Saturday to see my grandkids and then Steve and I are going out to dinner at Wollongong. They have some lovely eateries down there.

Not much else has been happening, it has just been cold and windy down here so I going to stay snuggled up under blankets until Spring comes around.

It has been pretty good, Steve has been up and down with the dystonia, I think the cold is making it worse. Winter has really hit, it's been freezing, but the weather has been clear so that makes it bearable.

My daughter's father-in-law passed away a couple of days ago. He was taken to the hospital but his medical condition rapidly deteriorated and he passed just a few days after he was admitted.

I will be going to the funeral even though I never met him, more to look after my granddaughter who will be there. If she gets too overwhelmed, I can take her for a walk or something. It's not something I am looking forward to, I don't like funerals, but I will be able to look after my granddaughter so my son-in-law and daughter don't have to worry about her.

On a happier note, my friend who lives up on the north coast is having a birthday so Steve and I are driving up there and staying for a couple of days. I could use a few days of warmer weather.

I also binged Titans and I have started watching Marvel's Secret Invasion, both are pretty good and I am looking forward to Blue Beetle coming out soon.

That's about it, have a great week everyone.

Steve and I are staying at home for the next week as we have booked a cruise and we have to test negative for The-Virus-That-Shall-Not-Be-Named or we can't board and we lose the money that we have paid. It's nice not running around to medical appointments but being able to chill at home for a change.

We took a drive through the National park, I love driving through there although some of the road can be very tricky with it's narrow twists and turns.

Steve also received his new lift chair that heats and massages as well so that should help his Dystonia and Myoclonus.

Other than this, not much has been happening. Other than attending Sports Days and Netball Gala days for the grandkids.

That and Spring is slowly on the way, we have both noticed how much nicer the weather has been. My pot plants are doing very nicely, They make the balconey look very green.

It was mostly filled with Steve's appointments and therapies. His speech therapy is now once a month as his therapist doesn't think there are any more strategies she can come up with. Now it's more just maintaining and checking on his condition. I am starting to get a little worried about the volunteer work that we have both been doing. Steve and I help out at Tai Chi which is aimed at older people who want to stay fit. It is every Friday morning. There used to be two classes but a few people dropped out. A couple of ladies aged out, one with dementia and another because of her becoming too frail, (she is in her late eighties.) But many more are just not showing up. I think they are going to other services which is fine if they are no longer interested, but the classes are getting smaller. Now we have put the two classes into one and only five people turned up and one stayed for the morning tea afterward. I am worried that the organisation we volunteer for will have to shut the Tai Chi class down due to lack of participants. I understand if they have to, but I don't think there are any other activities that Steve and I can do due to his disease. We both love volunteering and we will both miss it if it stops. I am just hoping that more clients will sign up but so far, no new people have. I guess we will have to see.

Other than this, not much has been happening. We have been enjoying the nice winter weather after all the rain, Vivid was really good this year, although some of the exhibits were a little difficult to find. The snow season has also well and truly begun so Steve and I will probably spend a couple of days in the mountains. Hopefully, the snow will continue and we will have a good season.

Steve had more doctor's appointments and therapies. His Occupational Therapist came out to do a home visit so of course we bought biscuits and cake slices for her to enjoy. She was at our unit for about three hours and had one cup of plain Rooibos red bush tea with vanilla. It turns out that she gave dairy up for Lent and couldn't have anything else. I felt terrible, if I had known I would have bought non-dairy snacks. I did apologise but she thought it was funny.

It seems though that she will no longer be Steve's OT as she has to travel too far so someone else is going to start treating him. It's a shame as she is really sweet and caring.

Besides all of that, I have been going to the gym and catching up with friends I haven't seen since lockdown. It's been great catching up with everyone.

Other than that, not much else. Volunteering has stopped for four weeks so Steve and I have our Friday morning free now. The weather is turning cooler and with all the rain, the beach is out but we will find something to do.

But I finally got to see The Batman which was awesome. Steve decided not to come and see it with me as three hours was a bit too much, although it didn't feel like it when I watched it. I also had the cinema to myself which I love. Cronulla cinemas don't seem to get as busy as Miranda which I like.

Between Steve's medical appointments and volunteering, we have been pretty busy. Some concerning news though, my grandson over in New Zealand contracted Covid but he seemed to only get a mild dose.

The weather here has still been really up and down, one minute pouring rain, the next, it's like being in the middle of summer. I am hoping that we might get some nice weather as I would like to have at least one more beach day before winter finally gets here.

Sorry, I haven't posted for a while but things have been really busy. My close friend's son had a terrible accident but thank god, he is slowly recovering. My sister had a very bad reaction to her Covid booster shot and ended up in hospital. My husband also received his new motorized scooter and his NDIS package has been renewed for two years now instead of twelve months. That means dealing with all his doctors, therapists, etc, so things have been a little hectic here.

Some good news though, it looks as though I might be able to get Steve into a university study to see a neuropsychologist. Also, he has been approved for extra help, so that is really good as his condition is definitely getting worse. He virtually has no balance these days and cannot walk without a walker or walking stick.

Still, at least he is getting plenty of help to be able to live at home which I am so happy about. We got a visit from his NDIS support coordinator, she is a lovely person who has helped us more than we can say. It was great finally getting to meet her in person.

Other than that, we have just been doing the usual stuff, enjoying the summer weather and finally being able to go swimming now that the rain has finally finished.

Hopefully, it won't take me this long to catch up with everything again.
