I'm Back

Steve and I decided to take a break and go to Melbourne. We drove down and stayed for four days. Now that my son has gone to Queensland to start his new job, we decided a break would be nice.

It was cold, but the weather was nice; we didn't get rain until we came to Sydney. I was a bit disappointed that the Victoria Markets were closed for renovations, they are my favourite markets, hopefully they will reopen when we go back there.

The weather here has been freezing cold and wet. Great weather for snuggling under the blankets and catching up on my reading. I finished Stepsister, which was great, and now I am planning on re-reading Rose Madder. Perfect for a rainy day.

Hope everyone has a great week.

Steve and I have just come back from The Gold Coast In Queensland. We stayed at Broadbeach. The weather was beautiful. We decided not to drive there this time, we decided to fly instead.

We stayed for five days and then flew back. We both love Queensland, the beaches and mountains are spectacular. Unfortunately, I came back with a nasty flu as well.

So now I am wrapped up in my dressing gown and blanket drinking tea and reading Agent Of Chaos. It is an X-Files novel which features a teenage Fox Mulder. So far it's been pretty good.

Have a great week everyone.

Steve and I had a wonderful time at Kingscliff. We decided to go the long way by stopping one night in Tamworth and the next night in Tweed Heads. Steve took me to my favourite club for dinner. The next morning we stopped at Harbour Town and did some shopping, then headed to Kingscliff.

We had a really nice stay. it was so relaxing but the drive back was tiring. As much as I love driving, the traffic when we hit Sydney was horrible.

It is good to be back home though,

Steve and I had a really nice time up in Kingcliff. Salt Beach is nice but it isn't the safest beach to swim in because of rips, sharks, poisonous jellyfish, blue bottles, and heavy surf. You can swim there but I wouldn't. Still, it's nice to walk along the sand.

Steve and I stuck to the pools instead. The weather was lovely, we had one day of rain, but the rest of perfect. Now we are back home and getting ready to drive out to Wilberforce to meet our new granddaughter. She was born the day before my birthday on the 20th of March.

Steve has a few medical appointments this week and I have to get my left checked, it's still really stiff and it aches at night so I am going to have to get an ultrasound to see what is going on.

I tried to get into my LJ and for some reason, it kept telling me that it was the wrong password, (it wasn't) then Steve and I went to Melbourne for a few days so I was not able to post anything. The WiFi was good but we were out every day and by the time we would get back to the resort where we were staying, I was wiped. We love Melbourne and we visit whenever we get the chance. The weather wasn't too bad, we had a little bit of rain, it was freezing cold though. Typical Melbourne weather, but we love it.

It is nice for Steve to get a break from all the medical appointments and therapies for a while. he has started a new physiotherapist and it seems to be helping him.

I never got to see Thor Love And Thunder, I will have to wait until it comes out on DVD. I know it's not the same as watching it in the movies but I know I will enjoy it anyway.

I am excited for the Sandman series which will be coming out, I just hope that it doesn't veer too far from the original comics, they have already changed one of the core characters so I am nervous.

Still, I am hopeful as the Sandman movie has been in development hell for so long.

Not to mention all the flooding. The scene of people trapped on the roofs of their homes are heartbreaking. Steve and I had to cut our holiday to Queensland short because we were worried that we would end up being flooded in. We decided to go home the long way, so we headed out west and stayed in Armidale for the night. We got back home and the first thing we did was check the garage as it's underneath the unit block and tends to flood. Water had gotten it, (we were worried about Steve's motorised scooter) but it wasn't too bad.

Steve's medical appointments have started again so we have been busy with those and the therapies he has to help manage his Cervical Dystonia.

As much as we both enjoyed staying in Surfer's Paradise it was nice to come home again.

I am just hoping that the rain eases and gives us all a chance to dry out.
