Since we have been back, Steve and I have been attending doctors' appointments and Steve's therapies. Now he has something else happening to him. He noticed a couple of strange lumps in the palms of both of his hands. They didn't look like calluses so we went to our new doctor, (our old one has moved away,) and he sent Steve for an ultrasound. It turns out that it's Dupuytren's contracture, it can make your fingers permanently curl in towards the palm.
Thankfully there are treatments including surgery so we have faxed the referral to the Hand and Eye Clinic and hopefully, we will hear from them soon so the doctor and Steve can work out what kind of treatment, although it will probably be surgery.
Steve is getting used to his new hearing aids and he is finding it a lot easier to use them now. He loves the fact that they are wifi.
One horrifying incident happened though. a few days ago, Steve decided to go to the local supermarket for a couple of things. I was at the gym so he decided to go on his motorised Scooter. He was on the footpath heading towards the shops when a car came tearing out of the underground carpark and clipped the front wheel of the scooter knocking Steve off. Thank god he wasn't badly hurt, but the woman driving did not even stop the car to see if he was all right, she just kept driving. I truly hope karma catches up with her.
Well, that's about it for now.
That's about it for now.
