ladymidathFinally got the DC game, Injustice:God's Among Us. Because of spoilers, I am putting it under a cut.
DC Injustice:God's Among Us is a game created by NetherRealm Studios for PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii U. In the Middle East it is actually called Injustice The Mighty Among Us.
I was really excited about the game coming out and in a previous post I was complaining that I missed the Collector's Edition that also has a beautifully detailed statue of Batman and Wonder Woman slugging it out. I plan to by the statue on Ebay, but more of that later.
The game itself is excellent. It is a basic combat game similar to Dc vs Mortal Kombat with one on one matches. The graphics are quite good though I think not quite as good in the Arkham games. Better than the DC vs MK though with more detail in the characters.
The game characters consist of:
Aquaman
Ares
Bane
Batgirl
Batman
Black Adam
Catwoman
Cyborg
Deathstroke
Doomsday
Flash
Green Arrow
Green Lantern
Harley Quinn
Hawkgirl
Joker
Killer Frost
Lex Luthor
Lobo (downloadable)
Nightwing
Raven
Shazam
Sinestro
Solomon Grundy
Superman
Wonder Woman
There are other characters such as Penguin and Riddler making appearances but they are not part of the main playing action.
It is based on a story where Joker in an alternate reality has tricked Superman into killing Lois Lane and their unborn son. He then destroys Metropolis resulting in Superman killing him by ripping the Joker's heart out. Superman then establishes a new world order where he is in charge of the entire world. Those that oppose him are dead or in hiding. The ones that survived start in insurgency against him.
Having discovered the Justice League world where Metropolis was not destroyed, the insurgents teleport their counterparts into their universe in order to help stop Superman's reign.
The storyline in the game is well done and really entertaining. The fighting mode is excellent with the different character having various gadgets and skills. I won't go to far into it as I don't want to spoil the game too much. :-)
I am playing the PS3 game and my son-in-law has the Xbox 360 game, I have not seen the Wii U game yet.
All up the game received very good reviews from critics. Aggregating review websites GameRankings and Metacritic gave the Xbox 360 version 82.94% and 82/100 and the PlayStation 3 version 81.68% and 78/100 and they are well deserved. Personally I think it is one of the better games to be released this year.
There is a DC comic series Injustice that is based on the game as well.
