Our new challenge is our eighty-third:
AMNESTY
During amnesty challenges, you can post works for
any of the challenges we've had to date:
( Complete list of prompts )See the Community Report for a sortable list of prompts.
Both reports have a random "Any Challenge" button, and the Creator Report also has a random "Unfilled Challenge" button.Of course, you're always welcome to post multiple works to any challenge if you finish them before the challenge closes, but that isn't always possible. So dust off those unfinished works and half-formed ideas -- now is the time!
In amnesty rounds,
include the challenge you are posting for in the subject line of your post (eg, Blanket: Heated Rivalry: Fanart: If on a winter's night).
Each work created for this challenge should be posted as a new entry to the comm. Posting starts now and continues up until the challenge ends at
4pm Pacific Time on Thursday, 1 January. No sign-up required.
Mods will tag your work with fandom, media and challenge. When you've posted entries to
three consecutive challenges, you will earn a name tag, and we'll go back and tag all your previous entries with your name.
All kinds of fanworks in all fandoms are welcome. Please have a look at
our guidelines before you play. If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to
contact a mod. And if you have any suggestions for future challenges, you can leave them in the comments of this post.
You can view stats for
fan_flashworks entries and search and filter them via the
Community Report and
Creator Report.
See our FAQ post for more details. Please let us know if you have any trouble accessing the reports.
In September, when we announced the new reports, we
confirmed our plan to wait a couple of months and then remove the challenge tags from the comm. That time is drawing near.
This is a reminder that on January 1, 2026, the challenge tags will be going away. Also, keep an eye out for the next
ffw_social post, which will go up in the next couple of days. If you haven't joined the comm yet, it's never too late to come and check it out. (Remember, posts are locked, which means you have to
join to see them.)
LONELY PROMPTS WEEK::22 DECEMBER § DAY 1
22/12/25 08:13December 22-26 is Lonely Prompts Week and it will be a challenge week! Each day will have a different theme for you to base the prompts you fill on.
In the past, we used to have a "winner" who completed the most fills every day, and at the end of the week, we'd announce an overall winner. But this time around, we're doing things differently! There are no winners or “losers”, just prompts that have been filled. At the end of the week, we'll be sharing a round-up post of all the lonely prompts that have been filled.
Monday's Theme: Backlog Beginnings
More Information: Start anywhere. Fill any prompt you’ve saved but never started.
If you leave a request, please make sure it follows the theme for the day and that each request is a new comment.
You are more than welcome to fill any and all lonely prompts, but only the prompts filled for the current theme will be counted for the daily totals. I will however include a list of those who filled other prompts when I do the round-up at the end of the week.
Please number your fills when leaving more than one in a comment. This helps me when I'm ready to count them up.
To find those elusive Lonely Prompts, you can go into the Calendar Archives, or for more recent prompts, you can use LJ's advanced search options to find prompts to request and/or fill.
To get things going, a few rules that I ask you all to follow.
1. You can only request five prompts to be filled. Please create a new comment for each prompt request.
2. You can request no more than three prompts from the same fandom.
3. You can, however, fill as many prompts as you'd like!
4. In the subject line, be sure to say whether this is a request or a fill!
5. You must link back to whatever the prompt is in the community logs (whether filling or requesting it be filled), and, if you're filling the prompt, please complete the fill as a response to the original prompt.
6. If you are filling an "any/any" prompt, please let us know what fandom (or, if original, say so!) you're using for the response.
7. If you filled any lonely prompts earlier this week, this is the place to share them!
8. Finally, we now have a community at AO3. If you have an AO3 account, please post your fills there. More information on how to do this is located at this link.
