Okay putting this update under a

It seems that because of all the uproar over Orson Scott Card being hired by DC to write the new digital Superman comic, the illustrator Chris Sprouse has decided not to do the art for the comic.

From Wired, 'The traditionally low-key Sprouse released a statement saying that the media reaction to the announcement of Card’s involvement with the project had provoked his decision to step down as artist. “It took a lot of thought to come to this conclusion,” he explained. “The media surrounding this story reached the point where it took away from the actual work, and that’s something I wasn’t comfortable with. My relationship with DC Comics remains as strong as ever and I look forward to my next project with them.”'

The series will begin with a story by Jeff Parker and Chris Samnee instead.

In one way it is a pity because Card is an incredibly good writer but his out dated opinions really have no place in this day and age. As I said earlier, he does have the right to his ideas and he does have the right to say them but others have also exercised their rights to boycott it. Maybe it might help to make him realize how far society has come.

I don't like his views, but everyone has the right to have them. Now if he's bringing it into his work, then I could see boycotting it. Was he actively using his works to express his hate speech?
