Oh the whole scene in that screen shot is hilarious from start to finish. Even though Roman Polanski's films do tend to be dark, this one had some really funny moments. I loved the way he deconstructed the whole damsel in danger genre. It was also a poke at all the lesbian vampire films that were so popular at time, especially from the Hammer studios. Considering this was made in 1967 it was also pretty brave to show an openly gay vampire and a handsome young man that was obviously scared and confused by his own attraction at the same time. I though Polanski and Quarrier were just so perfect. Not to mention the Count is not only fine with this but plans on keeping Alfred there as a *companion* for his son.

Oh I keep forgetting to mention, there is actually a spanking in the film. Not Alfred sadly, but Sharon Tate. She is spanked by her father played by Alfie Bass. Just thought I'd toss that in. :-)
I do hope you get a chance to see it though I know you are really busy.
I think the Geeky Girl posts have been getting my muses going because I have been re-visiting all my favourite tv shows and movies.
